Simon Scruton is an accomplished aviation professional with extensive experience in engineering and management roles across various organizations. Currently serving as the Support and Services Manager at Ascent Flight Training since December 2023, Simon previously worked at Babcock International Group as a Planning Performance Manager, and at Affinity Flying Training Services Limited as Chief Engineer. Additional experience includes positions as a Technical Engineer at BA CityFlyer, Duty Maintrol Engineer at AirTanker, and B2 LAE at SR-TECHNICS. Simon holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Airframe Mechanics and Aircraft Maintenance Technology/Technician from Kingston University, obtained between 1997 and 1999.

Ascent is the training design and delivery organisation appointed as the UK MOD’s Training Service Partner. Our sole purpose is to provide the Military Flying Training System for the UK’s Armed Forces. We provide this through a unique partnering arrangement with Royal Air Force No 22 (Training) Group and the UKMFTS Project Team from DE&S.
