Avani Dixit

Avani Dixit is a seasoned climate change and disaster risk management professional with extensive experience in various organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Climate Change Specialist at the Asian Development Bank since November 2022, Avani previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Himalayan Climate Initiative, focusing on disaster and climate change risk management in Nepal. With a solid background as a Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World Bank Group and a Disaster Risk Management Programme Analyst at UNDP Nepal, Avani has successfully developed and managed multiple high-value projects, established strategic partnerships, and provided technical oversight in disaster and climate resilience efforts. Avani's educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Keio University, along with a Master of Science in Information Management from the University of Reading and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Project Management from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology.
