Preston Thompson

Preston Thompson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in battery program engineering and dynamic performance group leadership. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Battery Program Engineering at Aspen Aerogels since June 2021, Preston has previously held multiple roles at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. from June 2012 to June 2021, including Senior Engineer and Group Manager. Notably, Preston led a team of 16 members in various R&D projects, coordinated successful vehicle model overhauls, and managed substantial budgets for prototype vehicles. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Union College, complemented by an internship at Atlas Copco, where Preston contributed to a software transition project.
