Takuya Yoshioka

Takuya Yoshioka serves as the Director of Research at AssemblyAI, spearheading model and algorithm development in areas such as ASR, speaker diarization, and NLP, while influencing the long-term technology strategy. Previously, Takuya Yoshioka worked at Microsoft from October 2016 to September 2023 as a Principal Research Manager, overseeing a team focused on AI/ML algorithms for conversational speech processing within the Cognitive Services Research group. Takuya Yoshioka's earlier roles included research positions at Microsoft, contributing significantly to algorithms for conversational speech transcription, and at NTT, where leadership in research teams yielded a notable victory in the CHiME-3 challenge. Takuya Yoshioka holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Speech, Audio, and Signal Processing from Kyoto University, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge.
