Andreas Tolk is a distinguished expert in complex systems modeling, currently serving as the Chief Scientist for Complex Systems Modeling at MITRE since August 2015, where expertise in modeling and simulation (M&S) is provided across various projects. Tolk has held multiple leadership roles within the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) since July 2010, including Chair of the Special Interest Group Simulation since 2023. Tolk also contributed as Vice President of Membership for The Society for Modeling and Simulation International from 2011 to 2016 and has been involved in significant projects as Chief Scientist at SimIS Inc. and as a faculty member at Old Dominion University. With a robust background supporting M&S initiatives for the U.S. Army and other organizations, Tolk holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Applied Operations Research from Bundeswehr University Munich.
