The Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) is an organization of PM&R professionals who are dedicated to improving patient care by advancing the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) through research and education. The AAP's 2,841 members (and growing!) include department chairs, program directors, residents and fellows, early career physicians, professors, researchers, medical students, administrative directors, program coordinators and others involved in academic physiatry.

The AAP has an official journal (the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation), hosts an Annual Meeting, and offers programs and activities that support and enhance academic physiatry.
