Jessica Kahanek serves as the Assistant Vice President of Communications at the Association of American Railroads, where responsibilities include acting as an on-the-record spokesperson and providing strategic counsel on media relations, public affairs, and crisis communications for the freight rail industry. Prior experience includes serving as Press Secretary for the National Labor Relations Board, where Jessica was the agency spokesperson and advisor on high-profile issues, as well as Deputy Digital Director at DDC Advocacy, advising on digital practices. Jessica's earlier roles in the U.S. House of Representatives included Communications Director for Congressman Jim Costa and New Media Coordinator for Congressman Gene Green, guiding communications during critical legislative debates. Jessica's career began with internships and entry-level positions, including roles at the Education and Labor Committee and various congressional campaigns. Jessica holds a B.A. in Political Science from Miami University.
