Richard Devost

Richard DeVost is a seasoned data scientist and machine learning engineer currently employed at Assurant since March 2017, where responsibilities include architecting and developing machine learning systems and AI algorithms for natural language processing, decision-making automation, and data visualization. Prior to this role, Richard founded and served as the principal consultant for Vinntech, Inc. from 2014 to 2017, creating software products such as a business risk assessment application and automated web solutions for small businesses. Richard's earlier experience includes serving as the Director of IT at The Brinkmann Corporation from 2012 to 2014, overseeing IT operations for a multi-national organization, and providing consulting services for various industries and non-profit organizations from 1997 to 2012. Richard holds a PhD in Leadership Studies from Andrews University and both an MS and BS in Mathematics from the University of Houston.
