Damir Rekic has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Damir started their career in 1996 as a MAW Team Leader at Handicap International. From there, they worked as a Language Assistant for NATO's Implementation/Stabilization Forces in BIH, followed by a role as an Administration/Logistic Assistant at RONCO Consulting Corporation and later at the United Nations. In 1998, they became a Survey Task Officer at the Federation Mine Action Centre, FedMAC. In 2002, they joined the Ministry of Civil Affairs in Bosnia and Hercegovina as a Quality Assurance and Quality Control advisor and inspector. Damir then worked as an Operations Planning Manager at BHMAC from 2014 to 2015. From 2015 to 2021, they served as a Quality Manager in the Quality Assurance Management department at BD. Currently, they are the Head of QHSE/Senior QA Manager at ASTA, a position they have held since 2023.
Damir Rekic attended the University of Bihać, Technical Faculty from 2008 to 2012, where they studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Damir obtained several additional certifications throughout their career, including ISO 9001 Lead Auditor - Quality Certification from TÜV NORD Adriatic in June 2023, Internal Auditor IATF 16949 from Bureau Veritas Group in April 2022, ISO 13485 Lead Auditor from BSI in November 2020, and Quality Audits, Quality Management, Risk Management - Released Products, and Suppliers Audit from BD in January 2018. Damir also obtained certifications in ISO 13485:2016 Medical Devices - Quality Management System from NSF Health Sciences in November 2016, Implementing of ISO 13485 from BSI in November 2015, and Internal Auditor, ISO 13485 from BSI in October 2015. Damir Rekic has a variety of additional certifications in fields such as mapping software, socio-economic impact evaluation, GIS mapping, and cluster munition clearance operation, among others.
