Chong Ser Choong 张世忠 has extensive work experience in various research and engineering roles. Chong Ser Choong started their career in 1990 as a Senior Equipment Associate Engineer at National Semiconductor, where they worked until 1997. Chong Ser Choong then joined the Institute of Microelectronics as a Senior Research Officer, a position they held until 2007. From 2007 to 2009, Chong served as the Senior Technical Manager at Silicon Matrix Pte Ltd, where they were responsible for designing and realizing MEMS Packages and improving assembly yield and reliability performance. Chong Ser Choong returned to the Institute of Microelectronics in 2009 as a Senior Research Engineer, and in 2013, they joined Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd as a Staff Engineer. Chong's most recent role was as a Principal Research Engineer at the Institute of Microelectronics, a position they started in 2015.
Chong Ser Choong 张世忠 began their education at Queenstown Technical Secondary School, where they completed their GCE 'O' Level in 1977. Chong Ser Choong then went on to attend Singapore Polytechnic from 1979 to 1981, where they earned a diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Continuing their education, Chong Ser Choong enrolled at Nanyang Technology University from 1997 to 2001, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Chong Ser Choong later pursued further studies at the same institution, completing a Master's Degree in Material Engineering from 2005 to 2008.
