Arnaldo Abrantes is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in sports medicine and high-performance athletic care. Currently serving as the Head of Medical Services at Aston Villa Football Club and as an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, Arnaldo has previously held key positions including Head of Medical and Performance at Nottingham Forest FC and Estoril Praia. As a co-founder of Athletika and a Sports Physician at miMed and the Portuguese Athletics Federation, Arnaldo has developed and implemented high-performance programs, integrated medical and performance staff, and led injury prevention initiatives. With a strong educational background, including a Doctor of Medicine and postgraduate qualifications in Sports Medicine, Arnaldo has also been an Olympic athlete and national champion, contributing both as a practitioner and a competitor to the field of sports medicine.
