Charles Chen

Charles Chen is a Senior RF Engineer at Astranis since May 2021, with extensive experience in RF/mm-wave circuit design. Previously, Charles served as a Staff RF/mm-wave IC Design Engineer at Samsung Electronics from July 2017 to April 2021, focusing on 5G modem RFIC circuit designs including VCOs and power combiners. Prior roles include Senior RF/mm-wave IC Design Engineer where projects involved diplexer and driver amplifier designs, along with various frequency management circuits. Charles contributed to RF/mm-wave circuit and antenna research as a Research Assistant at Rice University from 2011 to 2017, and held internships with Apple and Texas Instruments, working on RF front-end systems and automotive radar circuits, respectively. Education includes a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, a Master's degree from Purdue University, and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
