Kousik Kundu

Kousik Kundu is an Associate Principal Scientist at AstraZeneca since July 2022 and has held various roles at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, including Visiting Scientist and Postdoctoral Researcher, focusing on the assessment of rare variants in human complex traits using whole genome sequencing (WGS) and whole exome sequencing (WES) data. Previously, Kousik served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge from September 2015 to June 2022, specializing in WGS/WES sequence analysis and statistical genetics. Kousik's earlier experience includes research at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau, where work involved machine learning and protein-protein interaction studies, and a role as Project Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology in India, focusing on micro-RNA prediction in Plasmodium. Kousik holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from The University of Freiburg and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from the University of Kalyani.
