Qanita Rustin has extensive work experience in various roles related to HR, transformation, and labor law. Qanita started their career in 1997 as a Regional HR Practitioner at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA). In 2006, they joined Chevron South Africa, where they held positions such as Area HR Project & Planning & EE Coordinator and HR Manager for Talent Management. From 2011 to 2020, Qanita was the Managing Director of Qanita Rustin Consulting - Transformation & Labour Law and also served as a Part-Time Commissioner at the CCMA. In 2020, they joined Astron Energy (Pty) Ltd. as the Team Lead for Refinery Organisational Capability, Learning & Development, and later took on the role of Project Lead for the Organisational Competency, Refinery Relaunch Project. Qanita's experience includes managing change processes, facilitating consultations, coordinating with external parties, and ensuring compliance with employment equity regulations.

Qanita Rustin has a Bachelor's degree from Rhodes University. Qanita also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Employment Law (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town. Additionally, they have completed various courses and training programs, such as becoming a B-BBEE Certified Technician and Analyst (with distinction) from Empowerdex and undergoing 1 year Commissioner Training with the CCMA in Labour Law. Qanita has also received training in finance, executive leadership, social justice, substantive law, conciliation, legal drafting, arbitration, discrimination law, non-standardized work, principles of evidence, jurisdictional rulings, managing dismissals, and skills development legal through various institutions and organizations.
