Shane is currently the Head of Real Estate, Facilities Management & Operations at Astron Energy, where they oversee their property portfolio in South Africa and Botswana. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Business Services at JUMO.WORLD, managing their business support services across 18 countries. Shane also held the position of Director of Operations at Albukhary International University, where they established and managed a Facilities Management company. Shane has managed real estate portfolios across Africa for both ENSafrica and AECOM, and they also served as the Regional Properties Manager for GE in the Sub-Saharan region. Shane started their career in facilities management at Metropolitan Health Group and the Road Accident Fund. Shane has a strong background in managing commercial office spaces and developing efficient facility management strategies.
Shane Jones has a diverse education history. Shane completed their Master of Science - MS degree in Property at the University of Cape Town in 2021-2023. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Facilities Management and Construction Management from the University of the Free State between 2008 and 2013. In 2007, they earned a Certificate in Facilities Management from the University of the Free State and a Certificate in Project Management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Shane Jones completed their Matric education at Vredenburg High School in 1998.
