Khalil Al Balushi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Khalil started their career in 1991 as a Naval Officer in the Royal Navy of Oman, serving until 2001. In 2006, they joined Oman Shipping Company as a Designated Person Ashore. Khalil then moved to AMNAS in 2010, where they served as the CEO until 2014.

In 2013, Khalil Al Balushi became the Managing Director of Total Maritime Services LLC, a company offering services to the maritime industry in Oman. After leaving Total Maritime Services in 2016, they joined Asyad Shipping in various roles. Khalil initially served as the Senior Manager Safety & Marine from 2015 to 2016, and then became the Marine Director from 2015 to 2022. In 2016, they took on the role of Vice President Marine, which they continue to hold as of July 2022.

In addition to their roles in the private sector, Khalil Al Balushi also worked as an Examiner at the Ministry of Transport and Communications from 2010 onwards. Khalil is also a Member of the Board of Directors at Oman Logistics Association since 2018.

Khalil Al Balushi obtained a National CEO Program degree in Executive Leadership from IMD in 2017. Prior to that, they earned a PG certificate in Shipping and Logistics from the University of Middlesex in 2015. Khalil completed their undergraduate studies in Maritime from the University of Southampton between 2001 and 2006. Khalil also pursued Nautical studies at the Britannia Royal Naval College in 1993-1994.
