Atalanta B.C.

It’s 17th October 1907 when five guys, all in their twenties, gather around the table of the Correggi restaurant to give birth to a new sporting club. That’s when one of the most ancient clubs of Italy was founded, that’s when Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio was born. Since that moment Atalanta, which take their name from a Greek mythological heroine known for her speed, inextricably connect with the city of Bergamo, which they represent at Italian and international level. The Nerazzurri club are also called “Regina delle Provinciali” (queen of the provincial clubs), as they are the team with the highest number of Serie A appearances amongst clubs not based in a regional capital, achievement to which we must add the prestigious Coppa Italia win in the 1962/1963 season. One of the best youth academies in Europe since ever, they also boast three leagues and a Primavera Supercup in their palmares. Thanks to the managerial sodalice between the Percassi-Pagliuca management and the coaching of Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta have written new pages of their history: as a consequence of their growth strategy on and off the pitch and internationalization of the brand, the Club has acquired an increasingly prominent role not only on the national scale but also at an international level. Namely, Atalanta’s international path to date comprises: 4 UEFA Champions League participation (with the quarterfinals reached in the 2019/20 season standing as the Club’s historical best in the main European pageant) and, most recently, the winning of the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League in the Dublin final on May 22 2024.
