Laken Smith

Laken Smith is an experienced library professional currently serving as the University Archivist and Assistant Librarian at Athens State University since January 2020. Prior to this role, Laken worked as a Program Coordinator and Library Aide at Giles County Public Library, where responsibilities included coordinating library programs and assisting patrons with various services. Earlier experience includes positions as an Infant/Toddler Teacher at SCHRA-Early Head Start, a Teacher's Aide at Head-Start, and a Transcriber at The University of Tennessee at Martin, focusing on oral histories. Laken holds a Master of Library & Information Science from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
