R. Amadeus Mason is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics and Family Medicine at Emory Healthcare. Additionally, R. Amadeus Mason holds positions as the Medical Director Championship Events at USATF, Medical Director - Elite Athlete Program at Atlanta Track Club, and Medical Director and Head Team Physician at Overtime. With a Doctor of Medicine degree specializing in Sports Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Biology from Princeton University, R. Amadeus Mason also serves as part of the medical staff at the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation.

Atlanta Track Club is a nonprofit organization established to inspire and engage the community to achieve health and fitness through running. With more than 27,000 members, Atlanta Track Club is the second largest running organization in the United States. In addition to the AJC Peachtree Road Race – the largest 10K running event in the world - the PNC Atlanta 10 Miler and the Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon, Atlanta Track Club directs more than 40 events per year.
