Erling Gudmundsson has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on fiber-optic and mobile networks. Erling has held various leadership positions throughout their career. In 1996, they co-founded Ljosvirki and served as CEO, where they successfully built the company into a turn-key fiber solutions provider. Gudmundsson then became a founding partner of Novator's Industria project, where they played a key role in the establishment of Iceland's first 3G mobile operator, NOVA. Erling also co-founded Magnet Networks, a triple play broadband communications operator in Ireland. In 2003, they co-founded Industria and served as CEO and later as COO, where they oversaw the company's growth from a 2-person business to 140 staff members across 6 countries. Gudmundsson also worked as the Managing Director of Telecoms & IT at 365 Media, where they developed Iceland's premier 4G mobile network and ultra-fast broadband services. From 2015 to 2023, they served as CEO of Ljósleiðarinn / Reykjavik Fibre Network, a leading Icelandic telecom infrastructure company, focusing on fiber-to-the-home connectivity. Currently, Gudmundsson holds the role of COO at atNorth, a Nordic data center services company that offers environmentally responsible and cost-optimized data center hosting facilities and high-performance computing services. Additionally, they have served as a Board Member at Carbfix, an organization that captures CO2 and turns it into stone underground using proprietary technology.
