Dr. Saheli Bera

Dr. Saheli Bera is an experienced R&D Manager at Atotech Group since October 2020, specializing in high-performance corrosion and wear-resistant coatings for automotive applications. Expertise includes HEX chrome and Tri Chrome systems, with a focus on the impact of surface characteristics on coating behavior. Notable achievements include leading a successful project to launch a PFAS-free mist suppressant for HEX chrome formulations and developing eco-friendly alternatives to hazardous Tri-Chrome systems. Previous experience as an Industrial Postdoctoral Researcher at Momentive involved formulating protective silane-based coatings and understanding surface chemistry in automotive materials. Dr. Bera holds a PhD in water-based anti-corrosive coatings from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, and an M.Sc in Pure Chemistry from the same institution, along with a higher secondary education in Pure Science from Brahmo Balika Sikshalaya, Kolkata.
