Mitchell Brunton has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. In 2012, they were an AMSI Vacation Scholar at the University of Melbourne, where they conducted a summer research project in Computational Number Theory and presented their findings at CSIRO's "Big Day In" event. In 2013, they were a Forward Deployed Engineer Intern at Palantir Technologies. Mitchell then returned to Palantir Technologies in 2015 as a Forward Deployed Engineer. In 2017, they became a Software Engineer and Co-founder at Atticus. Finally, in 2018, they were a MAP18 Startup at the Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP).

Mitchell Brunton attended the University of Melbourne from 2011 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science and a Diploma in Pure Mathematics. Prior to that, they attended Kristin School from 2004 to 2008 and earned an International Baccalaureate.
