Marcus Diem has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Marcus currently serves as the Senior Director of Business Sector Nanoscale Analytics at attocube systems AG, a position they have held since April 2021. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Director of R&D and Operations at the same company from November 2020 to March 2021.
Before joining attocube systems AG, Diem was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at neaspec from November 2011 to October 2020. Marcus also worked as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group from September 2008 to October 2011.

Marcus Diem attended Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 1997 to 2003, where they obtained a diploma in Physics. During their time at KIT, they also pursued a Master's degree in Physics at Portland State University from 2000 to 2001. Marcus later continued their education at KIT, earning a PhD in Physics (Optics and Photonics) from 2003 to 2007.
