Mark Shanahan has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Mark most recently served as the Group CFO of AUB Group Limited, an ASX200 listed group operating in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, they worked as the CFO & COO of Australian Ethical Investment, an ASX listed ethical fund manager. Mark also had a long tenure at Macquarie Group, where they held various positions including CFO of the Banking & Financial Services Group and CFO and Head of Financial Management Group in Asia. Mark also worked as the Head of Operational Risk for the Corporate Affairs Group at Macquarie. Before joining Macquarie, Mark held leadership roles at Tullett Prebon, FTC Limited, and KPMG.

Mark Shanahan FCA, GAICD has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and a Higher Diploma in Accountancy from Rhodes University, which they obtained between 1984 and 1988. Mark also has a degree in LAW 380 from Charles Sturt University, completed by 2006. In 2014, they completed the Operational Excellence Practitioner course at AGSM @ UNSW Business School. In 2016, they completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and in 2017, they obtained a Tier 1 Superannuation – General Advice certification from Kaplan Professional. Additionally, Mark Shanahan holds certifications as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and as a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Mark is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
