Vahid Hashemi

Vahid Hashemi is a seasoned expert in autonomous driving and artificial intelligence, currently serving as Technical Team Lead for Pre-development at AUDI AG since April 2018, where responsibilities include leading R&D for verification and validation of ADAS/AD systems and developing AI governance processes in line with regulations such as the EU AI Act. Hashemi has held various leadership positions, including Project Lead for the EU AI Act and Technical Lead for significant projects like BMWi KARLI and EU H2020 Hi-Drive, focusing on enhancing AI safety and automation. In addition, Hashemi is involved with OECD.AI as a member of the Expert Group on AI Risk and Accountability and contributes to SAE International's G34 SG5 committee for AI in safety-critical systems. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Max Planck Society, Hashemi has a strong background in research and industrial advisory roles, further solidified by experience at prestigious institutions and companies.
