Sofiya Onyshkevych

Sofiya Onyshkevych is currently a Modeling and Optimization Expert at Aurubis, starting in October 2023. Previously, Sofiya served as a Research Assistant at the University of Hamburg from October 2019 to September 2023, focusing on shape optimization, optimization with partial differential equations, optimal control, mesh quality, and the Finite Element Method, particularly within the FEniCS Project. Prior to that role, Sofiya interned as a Software Engineer at Actian Corporation from November 2018 to August 2019, where research was conducted on graph visualization and layout techniques, along with software development for database systems using Scala, Slick, and Akka Streams. Sofiya holds a Master's degree from the University of Hamburg (2018-2019) and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Informatics from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (2013-2017), with additional studies at Università degli Studi dell'Aquila (2017-2018).
