Asha Gibson-Smith

Asha Gibson-Smith currently serves as the Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach at Austin Peay State University since July 2023. Prior to this role, Asha held the position of CrossPlex Sports Event Manager for the City of Birmingham from June 2022 to July 2023. Asha's extensive coaching experience includes serving as the Head Track and Field Coach at Drake University from October 2019 to June 2022 and as the Associate Head Track and Field Coach and HPSS Instructor at Tennessee State University from August 2014 to September 2019. Asha began coaching as the Assistant Track & Field Coach at Jacksonville State University from August 2008 to July 2014. Asha earned a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Physical Education and Human Performance from Jacksonville State University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science in Education, specializing in Health Teacher Education, from the same institution in 2008.
