Australasian Green Infrastructure Network
Ben Nicholson is an experienced professional in urban planning and green infrastructure, currently serving as the Deputy President of the Australasian Green Infrastructure Network since June 2023, focusing on creating climate-resilient communities. As a Senior Planner with the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning since March 2021, Ben has also played significant roles in various local councils, including as Coordinator of Green Infrastructure for the City of Melbourne and as a Subdivision Planner for Wyndham City Council. Founder and Director of The Urban Greener since 2008, Ben provides expertise in green roof and wall design. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science in Planning with Honours from RMIT University, alongside studies in Urban Horticulture. Ben's leadership extends to past positions, such as President of the Churchill Fellows Association Victoria, where responsibilities included liaising with committees and maintaining alumni networks.
