David McCue

David McCue is an experienced professional in the defence and security sectors, currently serving as Director of Defence and Security at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) since April 2019. Previously, David held the position of Company Director at Sayres Australia Pty Ltd from February 2018 to March 2019, after serving as Program Director for Sayres and Associates Corp from May 2017 to March 2019, where David established a subsidiary in Australia focused on defence contractor support. David's distinguished 20-year career with the Royal Australian Navy included key roles in operations and project management. In 2009, David worked as a Planning Officer for the United Nations, contributing to peacekeeping operations in the Horn of Africa. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Strategy and Policy from UNSW, a Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Professional Certificate in Project Management from San Diego State University, among others.
