Andrew Aikman

Andrew Aikman is a seasoned software developer with extensive experience in full stack development and leadership roles. Currently serving as a Senior Python Developer at Automata since November 2023, Andrew has held various high-level positions, including Director at Aikman Ltd since June 2014, and has recently completed a contract as a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Doppl.ai. Andrew's expertise encompasses robotics, automation, AWS DevOps, and Python development, with significant contributions to projects involving Django, FastAPI, and AI technologies. Andrew has a rich history of impactful work, notably with Fidelity International, where a new version of Django CMS was developed, and at Imperial College London and the Wellcome Sanger Institute, focusing on infectious disease monitoring tools. Andrew holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Information Technology from the University of Staffordshire, complemented by earlier education in Applied Information Technology from Burton College.
