Theresa Horner has over 20 years of work experience in the publishing and digital content industry. Theresa is currently the Chief Operations Officer at AVENU Learning since May 2019. Prior to that, they worked at O'Reilly Media as the VP, Academic Market from July 2017 to May 2019. Before joining O'Reilly Media, they were the SVP Product Development and Services at Sagence Learning from June 2016 to June 2017. From August 2015 to May 2016, they served as the VP Strategy and New Content Verticals at Scribd. Theresa also held various positions at Barnes & Noble/NOOK, where they were the VP, Digital Content and GM NOOK Press from November 2008 to November 2014. Theresa'srole there involved building and managing the global multi-million volume NOOK digital content catalog and leading the eBook business development and acquisition. Prior to that, they worked at Microsoft as a Business Development Manager and at HarperCollins Publishers as the Snr. Director Operations/Business Development. At HarperCollins, they launched and directed the digital content business and managed the digital content P&L. Theresa's experience includes negotiating contracts, business development, and managing operations processes in the industry.

Theresa Horner completed their Bachelor's Degree in Art History and Literature from the University of Vermont between 1984 and 1988. Theresa then went on to pursue further studies in the field and completed the course work for a Master's Degree at the University of Delaware from 1989 to 1991.
