Nicolas Alvear Velastegui

Nicolas Alvear Velastegui currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Treasury at Avianca since July 2023. Prior to this role, Nicolas was Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Development and Investor Relations at LifeMiles from September 2017 to January 2025. Nicolas has extensive experience in investment banking, having worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from November 2010 to August 2017 as Vice President and previously as an Associate and Analyst, as well as at Credit Suisse as an Investment Banking Analyst. Nicolas began a career in finance at Goldman Sachs as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in 2008. Academically, Nicolas holds an MBA with Honors from The Wharton School and a BA in Economics and Operations Research from Columbia University.
