Ethan J. Jackson

Ethan J. Jackson is a Principal Research Scientist at Aviatrix since March 2024 and a PhD student at UC Berkeley since August 2015, under the advisement of Scott Shenker. Previously, Ethan held the position of Staff Engineer at Google from February 2021 to March 2024, and served as Founder and CEO of Kelda from May 2017 to February 2021. Prior experience includes work as a Staff Engineer at Nicira by VMware from August 2012 to August 2015, following the acquisition of Nicira, and as a Senior Software Engineer at Nicira from September 2010 to August 2012, contributing significantly to the Open vSwitch project and Nicira's Network Virtualization solution. Early in the career, Ethan was a Software Engineer in Cloud Computing at Yahoo! from July 2009 to September 2010, working on automated Cloud Serving Technology. Ethan holds a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University (2005-2009) and is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at UC Berkeley.
