Claus Wimmer

Claus Wimmer is an experienced IT security professional with a strong background in information security and risk management. Currently serving as the IT Security Officer for Global Enterprise Security at Avient Corporation since 2020, Claus has previously held key positions, including IT Security and Risk Manager and Head of Operation Security at Clariant International Ltd from 2003 to 2020. Responsibilities included developing IT security policies, conducting security assessments, and managing security incidents. Claus also served as IT Audit Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, where expertise in information systems assurance and ethical hacking was demonstrated. Early career experience includes leading the UNIX System Group at EBM Energie AG from 1993 to 1997. Claus holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from HTL Brugg-Windisch FHNW and studied economic sciences at the University of Basel.
