Avikus
Avikus, a start-up company that specializes in developing autonomous navigation solutions, was founded in January ’21 by Hyundai Heavy Industries Group which is the world’s best shipbuilder. The name Avikus comes from Viking’s old name, AVVIKER, which means to be a pioneer in autonomous ship technology. In 2020, we succeeded in commercializing the world's first deep-learning based navigation assistant system. Since February 2021, we have been supplying navigation assistant systems to ships contracted by HHI Group. The company that developed the world's first AI driving assistance system (ADAS) monopolized the driving assistance system market based on a large amount of data obtained at the beginning of the business. AVIKUS, an autonomous vessel, plans to supply navigation assistance solutions to more than 100 vessels annually for the first time in the world. Like autonomous-driving cars, ship autonomous navigation technology is the crystallization of cutting-edge technology that combines sensor convergence and artificial intelligence-based cognitive technologies such as radar, AIS, vision, and lidar, and ship dynamics-based judgment and control technology. Avikus is looking for talented people to commercialize the world's first autonomous navigation technology with the world's best autonomous navigation engineers.
