Robert Sortwell has over 20 years of experience in risk management within the financial industry. Robert started their career at GNI Fund Management as a Junior Risk Manager, where they conducted market and operational risk assessments for hedge fund products. Robert then moved to Old Mutual Limited as a Senior Risk Manager, responsible for managing market risk on various hedge fund strategies. Robert joined Barclays Investment Bank as a Senior Risk Manager, before transitioning to Barclays Wealth and Investment Management as the Head of Risk for the Fund Solutions Group. In this role, they created a risk management framework for the UCITS compliant investment management business and provided daily portfolio risk analysis. Currently, Robert is the Head of Investment Risk at Aware Super.
From 1997 to 2000, Robert Sortwell pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, Financial Management, and Maths at The University of Sheffield.
