Jonathan Ferguson has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Jonathan began their career in 2000 as a Design Engineer at ARC International. In 2004, they moved to Broadcom as a Senior Design Engineer, where they were responsible for FirePath (LIW DSP) Microarchitecture and Front-end RTL. Jonathan also worked on physical implementation, chip level STA, front/back-end tools/flow development, verification, and formal verification. In 2007, they joined XMOS Semiconductor Ltd as Director of Silicon and Technical Director of Core Engineering, where they were responsible for driving future chip microarchitecture and bringing new silicon technology to the company. Jonathan also served as Principle Development Engineer/Front-Design Team Lead. In 2016, they moved to Graphcore as Silicon Engineering Director (Logical) and Front End Design Manager. Currently, they are the VP of Silicon Engineering at Axelera AI.
Jonathan Ferguson obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Effects on SRAM arrays from cosmic ray induced neutrons from Lancaster University in 2000. Prior to that, they obtained a 1st in Electronic Engineering from Lancaster University in 1999.
