Samantha Norris

Senior Microfabrication Engineer at Axoft

Samantha Norris is an engineer at Axoft, focusing on the development of innovative neural probes for brain-computer interfaces since February 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a fellow at the Cornell NanoScale Facility, where advanced processes for fence-free etch processing were developed from November 2019 to February 2023. As a graduate research assistant at Cornell University from May 2016 to February 2023, Samantha developed microscale devices intended for use as artificial microswimmers and electrochemical sensors under the guidance of Professor Paul McEuen. Earlier experiences include undergraduate research assistant roles at Illinois State University, where algorithms for electron-electron correlation simulations were created, and at the University of Colorado Boulder, where a MATLAB program for simulating protein diffusion was developed. Samantha's research also involved data analysis of the Darkside-50 WIMP detector at Fermilab. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Illinois State University.
