Aaron Smith is a philosophy educator and researcher with extensive experience in academic settings. Currently serving as a Fellow and Instructor at The Ayn Rand Institute since August 2013, Aaron previously held the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Maryland Baltimore County from August 2010 to August 2013. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master of Arts (MA) in Philosophy from The Johns Hopkins University, as well as undergraduate studies in Philosophy at Hamline University and Boston University.

Ayn Rand Institute
The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Irvine, California, works to introduce young people to Ayn Rand’s novels, to support scholarship and research based on her ideas, and to promote the principles of reason, rational self-interest, individual rights and laissez-faire capitalism to the widest possible audience. The Institute is named for novelist-philosopher Ayn Rand (1905-1982), who is best known for her novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged.
