Ismayil Afandiyev

Associate Professor Of Medicine at Azerbaijan Medical University

Ismayil Afandiyev serves as the Deputy Head of the Medical Service Department at The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan since October 2021 and has been the Head of the Anti-doping Disciplinary Committee at Səhiyyə Nazirliyi since April 2024. With a notable academic career at Azerbaijan Medical University, Ismayil holds positions as Associate Professor of Medicine, Dean of International Students, and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Education since September 2010. Additionally, Ismayil works as a Clinical Toxicologist at Mərkəzi Gömrük Hospitalı and as a Senior Lecturer at the Baku branch of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Ismayil's involvement in international events is highlighted by the role of Medical Marshal for Formula 1, and active memberships in organizations such as the European Association of Poison Centres and Clinical Toxicologists. Ismayil completed a Doctor of Medicine degree and a PhD in Internal Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at Azerbaijan Medical University, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree at the Academy of the State Customs Committee.
