Valerie Self

Valerie Self is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in battery technology and energy storage systems. Currently serving as Chief Engineer for Battery Systems at B–ON, Valerie oversees automotive battery system development processes and validation across multiple platforms. Previously, as Head of Engineering at AMTE Power, Valerie led a multi-disciplinary team in designing battery cells and modules, while also serving as a key technical lead on significant research projects. Valerie's earlier roles at Tata Motors included providing leadership on advanced battery technologies and energy storage solutions for electric and hybrid vehicles. Valerie holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Brunel University of London, alongside an M.Phil. and a BSc in Chemistry.
