Vytautas Stankevicius has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry spanning over several companies. Vytautas started their career in 1981 as a Jak 40 Co-pilot at Air Lithuania and eventually became a Captain. Vytautas then worked at Lithuanian Airlines as Chief Pilot until 2006. In 2000, they briefly worked as a Captain at CROSSAIR SWISS. From 2006 to 2009, they served as the Director of Flight Operations (DFO) at FlyLAL. Lastly, they held the position of Head of Training at UAB Baltic aviation academy from 2009 onwards.

Vytautas Stankevicius started their education in 1978 at Buguruslan flight colleague in Russia, where they studied for three years. Afterward, in 1989, they pursued a Yak-42 Transition course in Russia. Moving forward to 1997, they completed an ATR-42 Transition course in France. In 1998, they participated in a SAAB 2000 Transition course at the Swiss Aviation Training Centre. In 1999, they took a TRI course at the Swiss Aviation Training Centre. Later, in 2007, they underwent a B 737 Transition course at FlyLAL Training Centre. Finally, in 2011, they completed an English language proficiency level 4 course and an A320 Transition course at BAA.
