Art Okamoto has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Art started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tularik, where they worked on drug target identification and validation for hypercholesterolemia. During their time there, they made significant contributions to the field and published their findings in Science.
After Tularik, Art joined Ingenuity Systems as a Senior Product Manager, where they continued to showcase their abilities as a product manager. Art remained with the company for almost a decade before moving on to Epocrates. At Epocrates, Art held multiple roles, including Senior Product Manager and then Director of Product Management, where they oversaw the management of the company's core subscription products across different mobile platforms.
Following their tenure at Epocrates, Art joined icix as a Director of Product Management, where they helped businesses connect, share data, and manage the performance and risk of their global supply chains. Art worked with numerous successful organizations and made a significant impact on the icix network.
Art then moved on to AliveCor Inc. as a Senior Director of Product Management before joining RetailMeNot, Inc. as the VP of Product Management. These roles allowed him to further refine their skills in product management and contribute to the growth and success of these companies.
Currently, Art is employed at Backblaze Cloud Storage & Backup as the Senior Director of Product Management, where they are responsible for leading and managing the product strategy and development.

Art Okamoto has a BS degree in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a PhD in Molecular Biology from UC Irvine. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including "Be the Manager People Won't Leave," "Managing High Performers," and "Managing High Potentials" from LinkedIn in 2023.
