Tizoc Velasco

Tizoc Velasco possesses a diverse background in education and public safety, currently serving as the Director of Education at Backcountry Medical Guides since January 2017, where responsibilities include organizing educational materials and developing lesson plans. Prior experience includes roles as Beach Lifeguard II and Junior Lifeguard Instructor II with the City of Santa Cruz, leading and training other lifeguards, and educating youth on lifesaving techniques. Velasco has also worked as a Paid Call Firefighter with the Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County, and as a credentialed science teacher in multiple school districts, emphasizing innovative strategies for English language learners.
