Ahmed Abdulghani has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Ahmed currently holds the position of Chief Investment Officer at the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) since April 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Debt Capital Markets and Syndication at the National Bank of Bahrain from August 2017 to April 2023.

Ahmed also gained valuable experience at prestigious financial institutions such as J.P. Morgan and BNP Paribas. At J.P. Morgan, they served as Vice President in the Debt Capital Markets division from January 2015 to June 2017, and previously as an Associate from May 2013 to December 2014. At BNP Paribas, they worked as an Associate in the Debt Capital Markets division from November 2009 to April 2013, and as a Dealer in Fixed Income Sales from February 2009 to November 2009.

In addition to their banking experience, Ahmed has also worked at McGill University. Ahmed served as a Senior Consultant at the Sandiford Computing Lab from February 2007 to December 2008, and as a Teacher Assistant for Intro to Information Systems from January 2008 to May 2008.

Ahmed also gained early career exposure through internships at Addax Investment Bank as part of the Corporate Finance Unit in 2008, and at Citi in the Treasury Operations and Financial Control Unit in 2007.

Overall, Ahmed Abdulghani has built a strong background in finance, especially in debt capital markets, and currently holds a senior leadership position at a prominent economic development organization.

Ahmed Abdulghani attended McGill University from 2005 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Ahmed'sfield of study included Finance and Information Systems.
