Mike van Rensburg

Mike van Rensburg is a Partner and the Johannesburg Head of Corporate/M&A at Baker McKenzie South Africa, a position held since May 2012, contributing as one of the founding partners of the Johannesburg office. With extensive experience in domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, Mike has represented notable clients such as Diageo plc. Prior to Baker McKenzie, Mike served as a Director at Werksmans Attorneys from January 2007 to December 2011, specializing in domestic transactional work and corporate finance for clients in various sectors, including Mining and Services. Additionally, Mike was a Director at Glyn Marais Inc. from January 2002 to January 2007, where a progression from junior associate to director occurred following a transition from corporate commercial litigation to the commercial team. Mike holds a BLC LLB degree from the University of Pretoria, obtained between 1991 and 1995.
