Robert Price is an accomplished broadcast journalist and writer with extensive experience in the field of journalism. Currently serving as a news reporter at KGET-TV 17 since February 2020, Robert also holds the position of metro columnist for The Bakersfield Californian, where three columns are published each week. Robert has been with The Bakersfield Californian since March 1988, previously serving as the senior editor. As a freelance writer-editor, Robert has contributed to the music industry and authored the book "The Bakersfield Sound: How a Generation of Displaced Okies Revolutionized American Music," published in December 2015. Robert's early career included a role as an editor and columnist at Freedom Communications Inc. from May 1986 to May 1988, covering sports. Robert obtained a BA in Journalism/English from California State University-Sacramento between 1981 and 1985.
