Philip Smith

Philip Smith is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in full-stack development. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Bakkt since September 2019, Philip plays a key role in the Payments Engineering team, focusing on the development of Business Portal applications using Spring Boot, React, and TypeScript. Prior experience includes a Senior Web Developer position at ICE from February 2014 to September 2019, where Philip contributed to applications supporting Marketing and Operations and played a pivotal role in designing an in-house CMS platform during the NYSE acquisition. Philip began a career in development as an intern at ICE and also served as a Student Assistant/Web Application Developer at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where core applications were developed using Python, Django, and PostgreSQL. Philip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, completed in December 2013.
