Kate H. Elliott

Kate H. Elliott is an accomplished journalism educator and writer with extensive experience in both academic and professional settings. As a Lecturer of Journalism and Coordinator of Magazine Media concentration at Ball State University since August 2011, Kate focuses on teaching compelling writing and strategic storytelling across multiple platforms. Additional roles include Adjunct Instructor, guiding immersive learning experiences, and Ball State Alumnus Editor and Communications Manager, where Kate fostered alumni engagement through narrative storytelling. With experience as a self-employed freelance writer and editor since 2015, Kate produces content for various publications and nonprofits. Previous positions include editorial leadership roles at Valdosta State University, Waco Tribune-Herald, Rural Missouri magazine, Columbia Daily Tribune, and Thomson Reuters. Kate holds a Bachelor's degree in Magazine Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master's in Higher Education Leadership from Valdosta State University.
