Simon Vella has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the finance and banking sector. Simon started their career in 2005 as an Internal Auditor at Lombard Bank Malta, where they worked until 2011. Simon then moved on to NBG Bank Malta Ltd, where they continued in the role of Internal Auditor from 2011 to 2013. Simon then joined Novum Bank Group as an Internal Auditor from 2013 to 2016.
In 2016, Simon joined dLocal as a Finance and Operations Manager, a role they held until 2017. Simon was later promoted to the position of Managing Director at dLocal Limited, where they served from 2018 to 2022.
Currently, Simon holds the position of Chief Treasury Officer at Bamboo Payment Systems, starting in 2022.
Simon Vella obtained a Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors in 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Honours degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Malta from 2001 to 2005.
